I recently discovered Ephemeral New York, and it has quickly become one of my favorite blogs for some of the great photos and other “artifacts” they feature.  Last week they featured a great image of some kids illegally swimming in the East River, while workers carry on their business around them.

Of course reading this post reminded me of an article I read in the newspaper this past weekend where a man was arrested for taking a dip in the waters of Coney Island.

Despite good reasons for staying out of of New York’s waterways (e.g. sewage) it seems some people will have a hard time resisting the temptation of the cool water on hot summer days in NY.
